Write for Right India's Children's Anthology, and any future VIDYA programme involving children, is built around the safety, dignity and wellbeing of every child who takes part. This policy explains the principles VIDYA follows.
Parent or Guardian Consent
A parent or guardian must give consent before a child's entry is submitted, and before any child's entry, name or details are published. The consent process will be published in full in the Submission Guidelines.
Minimum Necessary Information
We only ask for the information genuinely needed to run a programme — for example, a child's name, age group and a parent or guardian's contact details. We do not ask children for information beyond what is needed.
Publishing a Child's Work
Where a child's entry is selected for publication, we will follow the consent and privacy arrangements agreed with the parent or guardian regarding how the child is named or credited.
Images of Children
Where any photograph or image of a child is used in connection with a VIDYA programme, it will only be used with appropriate parent or guardian permission.
Safe Communication
Communication about a child's submission will be directed to the parent, guardian or school that supported the entry, not to the child directly, wherever practical.
